coloring tutorial #5  


examples:


NOTE: some pictures you use on these colors might be dark so if that happens, just duplicate your base and set it to screen at whichever % works for the picture and it will turn out great. =]

ONE
Fill layer: #b097c2
set to exclusion 40%

TWO
Brightness/contrast layer
contrast +44 --set to softlight 100%

THREE
Hue/sat layer
reds
hue: +5
sat: +23
normal 47%

FOUR
Color balance
midtones: +11 0 +6
shadows: -1 +4 +4
highlights: - 6 0 +13

FIVE
Fill layer: #f8fe14
set to exclusion 13%

SIX
duplicate the brightness/contrast layer we did before
bring to top and set to soft light 57%

SEVEN
Fill layer: #7ddb01
set to darken 8%

EIGHT
Fill layer: #404040
set to lighten 65%

NINE
Brightness/contrast layer
contrast +20 normal at 57%

I took awhile last night because all the ones I tried would make my side bar floating in the middle of nowhere. And I don't like this one because the comments are all just on the background and I can't figure out how to make it colored behind them. It's ugly and bothering me!

Are you using paint shop? Where all your layers are listed, click on the little black arrow, go to new adjustment layer and then you'll see color balance. :)
